CAB Member Requirements & Expectations
The Dallas College District 7 Community Advisory Board (DCD7 CAB) will consist of five(5) dedicated individuals with strong ties to District 7 and expertise in education, healthcare, business, or community engagement.
Qualifications:

Must live, work, or have strong community involvement in South Dallas, Oak Cliff, DeSoto, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Lancaster, Wilmer, or Hutchins.

Experience in education, healthcare, business, workforce development, or
community leadership. -
Passion for ensuring the community is informed about Trustee O’Reilly’s work and
Dallas College’s programs, scholarships, and workforce initiatives. -
Strong communication skills and a commitment to gathering and sharing information
that benefits the community.
Expectations:

Serve a one-year term, with an option for renewal.

Attend quarterly CAB meetings (virtual and in-person options available).

Actively participate in discussions, strategy sessions, and feedback sharing to help
inform Trustee O’Reilly’s engagement efforts. -
Help distribute and promote information from Trustee O’Reilly to the community.

Gather insights from the community and relay key concerns and feedback to Trustee O’Reilly.

Ensure the community is aware of and engaged with Dallas College’s offerings and
activities that align with their needs.
Commitment to the Community
Members of the CAB play a vital role in ensuring the voices of District 7 residents are heard and represented. This is not a policy-making body, but rather an advisory group that facilitates engagement and connection between the community and Trustee O’Reilly. By serving on the CAB, members commit to actively supporting outreach efforts, gathering community input, and promoting awareness of educational and workforce opportunities available through Dallas College.

What is the D7 Community Advisory Board?
The D7 CAB is a small, dedicated group of leaders and community members who will:

Help share information about Dallas College’s programs, scholarships, workforce initiatives, and community activities that the college offers or supports.

Gather feedback from local residents about their needs, concerns, and opportunities for engagement.

Support my work as Trustee by ensuring that the community knows I am working on their behalf.

Serve as trusted messengers who amplify resources and information that benefit our communities.
